We returned to Kilmacolm yet again and were not disappointed, unless you look at our scores. I am still in amazement as each time I play here I am at a loss as to why I do not score better than I do. Playing partners today are Rae McIntyre (Douglas Park) and Kevin Faulkner (Troon), whom I parnered at Largs in May. Conditions on the day were good as we set off. The first two holes were straight forward pars before a double bogey at the 3rd was recorded for zero points. The next six holes saw me record twelve points for an outward 16pts. The inward half was not as straight forward as I was hoping for, although I picked up 9pts in three holes, I only added a further 5pts over the remaining six holes and to rub salt in it, I lost my ball at the last.                        Nephew Bill also struggled on the day, but at least he won this competition in 2011 (Jammy Git). I can say this because I don’t think he reads this. Not a long course, but tricky, so if you want a fun game, then this is the place to visit.
