My first visit to Auchterarder in a few years saw me finish with a Net 69, one under the CSS of 70, after an outward half of 40 which began par birdie. This was followed by five straight bogies and two pars. My inward half was played mostly in rain and again started par, birdie. Four further bogey’s and three pars saw me cover the inward half in 36, which lost out to second place on the B.I.H. However, I was rewarded with .2 off my exact handicap and an £80 Voucher for winning the scratch prize. Once again I would like to thank my playing partners, John Paton (Auchterarder) and Ian Morton (Downfield) for their friendly company and encouragement throughout the round. The lunch was very tasty, thank you John, and despite the weather I will certainly return in 2014. My nephew Billy had another bad day, with a score of twelve over par at the par 3’s and a further twelve over par at the par 4’s.
