Billy and I arrived so early that we could have chosen to either cut the greens or hoover the locker rooms. No food however and the coffee was out a machine. The weather was slightly better than we have been used to and the course was in excellent condition. My playing partners were Alistair Clark from Dunblane New, and John Farrell from Ratho Park.

Alistair unfortunately hit a high percentage of the tree population while John and myself both returned net scores of 70 which should make the buffer zone. The greens were very quick and I was caught out more than once by being past the hole, making a two putt all but impossible. The windy conditions did not detract from the enjoyability of the round and we all enjoyed the day. Service in the clubhouse was efficient and with a smile. You just have to play here, it is almost flat, has no rough to speak off and if you stay out of the trees, should play to your handicap or better every time.
